Frequently Asked Questions
What are Neurotoxins?
Neurotoxins are muscle relaxers. Botox, Xeomin and Dysport all work by relaxing the muscles that make expressions on the face. When the muscles relax, the lines smooth out.
How long do Fillers and Botox last?
This depends on many factors. Typically fillers last anywhere from 6 - 18months depending on the type and area used. Botox, Xeomin and Dysport usually last an average of 3 months for most people.
Dose = Duration, so the more you do, the longer it tends to last. Clients with active lifestyles tend to metabolize both products a little bit faster on average than the general population.
How long do threads last?
This depends on the person, age, amount of lift desired, etc. On average, results last up to 1 year, with maximum improvement seen for the first 6 months. Remember, as we age, our body is losing collagen at the same time these products are helping to build it so everyone’s timeline is slightly different.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Fillers are substances that add volume to areas of the face, and help to soften lines. They are typically made with biodegradable materials such as hyaluronic acid, calcium, and Poly-L lactic acid.
What are Threads?
Threads are thick strands of suture material that are dissolvable, and can be used for various functions. Barbed threads have little blunt “hooks” on them to pull tissue and provide lifting capacity to areas of the face. Smooth threads are smaller, smoother strands that can be used to smooth lines and wrinkles, and create smaller amounts of lift in areas. Both types of threads contribute to collagen production in the face.
